When you want to use XElements, but have trouble understanding how to set up the XElements correctly you may be wondering how can I embed XElements into XML literals. Well, in this article I will help you through this process.
When you start using XElements to embed a program or script into XML literals, then you need to know that a form is required for it to execute. Without this form then the XML processing will not be able to handle the elements that you are trying to write. This form is called a definition.
So, where do you get your XML definitions? To understand this you need to know about tags and attributes.
When you are embedding XElements into XML literals then you need to think about how the XElements will be used. The easiest way to get an idea of how they will be used is to use the example that is available. The next step is to use the define command and enter the following:
Here we tell the parser that we want the definition to contain an xname do xname data element named “title”. This is a very important command that you need to know. When you enter this command then the definition will contain an XML data element called “title”. What happens when you see the “title” definition is that this element will become part of the XML file.
Now that we know how the definition works, we need to figure out what an XML data element is. A data element is simply a container that has certain attributes. So, if you want to embed a particular tag then you will be told to enter the tag name. If you are embedding more than one tag then you will be told to enter multiple attributes.
For example, if you want to embed the title tag, you will be told to enter the “title” data element, if you would like to embed the text and image tags then you will be told to enter the “title”text” data elements. All the different tags have different attributes.
You should now be able to figure out how to embed elements into XML literals. There are several steps that you need to take, but once you know what to do you will be able to create your XML documents in the proper way. Before you can begin, you will need to know how to start.
